Our Story

We are JST (pronounced Just) Butler Enterprises!

We are natives of Murfreesboro, TN as well as first cousins. On March 26, 2019 Tiffany had an idea of starting a family business. She was inspired by Dana Chanel after watching her video, “There Is A Million Dollars Hiding Behind Your Family Ego”. And boy don’t we have one, LOL!! Tiffany brought her idea to Jennifer and I. We eagerly agreed that starting a family business was a great idea and smart move for our family legacy. We began to discuss what our business would be and what we wanted to gain by starting a business. We are all naturals (no perms) and decided that we would be a retail business that produces and manufactures natural care products.

Each of us wanted to create something different. Jennifer, mother of two has always loved cooking and baking and dreamed of one day owning her own café. She is the founder of our JST Vegan line. We have 5 desserts with a variety of options to choose from. Tiffany, mother of two began our JST Scents line which consists of candles and wax melts. We offer 7 different candle scents and 9 different wax melts. I began formulating four varieties of body butters for our JST Naturale Collection. We have more products to come!

We knew that we did not just want to sell products for people to buy. We wanted to give back to the community that raised us. We then decided to raise funds for our May Lizze Brown Education Center in honor of our aunt who helped raise us. Having a family business is a great start to building wealth. I’ve learned that in the black community there is an estimate of 1 Trillion dollar in spending power, but a small percentage rarely makes it way back into the community. Having a business isn’t just for us, it’s for the children, our ancestors and the community.

In 2013 I was diagnosed with MS, (Multiple Sclerosis), but I had been having symptoms since 2012. A friend of mine spoke of a man named Dr. Sebi, a Holistic Herbalist. I researched him and found that he believed the only form of disease is mucus and that we should eat an alkaline diet. Basically, the foods we consume are acidic and are causing our bodies to become sick (disease). This was the first-time I had read and heard about food in this manner. I was intrigued and this began my journey toward living a healthier lifestyle. We all share a desire to be healthy and live healthy. Changing the food, I eat hasn’t been easy, but I continue to make better choices daily.

Knowing what to put in your body is one part of living healthy, another part is, knowing what you are putting on your body. Jennifer and I went natural around the same time in 2014. When I finally came to terms that perms were harmful to my body inside and out, I stopped. Tiffany had been natural since 2010 and I can remember her cutting her off and having an afro. I thought to myself that going natural isn’t for me. Never say never. As we start to gain more knowledge of self, we learn to live life with more meaning, compassion, and respect for ourselves and others.  We are on a journey to detach, de-program, and detox from things that no longer serve us.
